Chichi Dango

Yield: 72 pieces

Ingredients:

  • 1 Box Mochiko (16 oz. box)
  • 2 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Can Coconut Milk (12 oz. can)
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/2 tsp Food Coloring
  • 1 Bag Kinako or Katakuriko (Potato Starch)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour mix into greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove pan from oven and replace foil with dish cloth. Set in cool place overnight or let sit for at least 6 hours. Sprinkle layer of kinako or katakuriko on a flat cookie sheet. Flip mochi onto cookie sheet. Cut mochi into strips and roll in kinako or katakuriko. Do not refrigerate.
