Butter Cake

Cream:

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar

Add 4 egg yolks.
Sift together:

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Add alternately with dry ingredients – 1 c. milk (fresh). Beat until frothy 4 egg whites. Add 2 tsp. cream of tartar. Fold into batter. Bake in 350 degree F. oven for 25 – 30 minutes.
