Sweet Mochi

Mix well:

  • 1 pkg. (10 oz.) mochiko
  • 1 1/2 cups water (slightly less)

Place in pan lined with damp cloth and steam for 5 minutes.

While mochi is steaming, cook over low heat until dissolved:

  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 small can Carnation Milk

Place steamed mochi mixture into a large bowl and slowly add milk/sugar mixture while pounding with “bo” or wooden spoon. Add coloring and mix well.

Put mixture in well dusted (with potato starch) pan and leave overnight to harden before slicing.
