Prune Cake

• 3/4 cup Crisco
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 cup sour milk
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup stewed prunes
• 3/4 tsp. baking soda
• 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
• 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
• 3/4 tsp. allspice
• 3/4 tsp. salt
• 1/4 tsp. baking powder

Icing:

• 2 cups powdered sugar
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/8 tsp. salt
• 1 1/2 tsp. prune juice
• 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
• 1/2 cup prune pulp

Cake: Blend Crisco with sugar and eggs. Add prunes, stir in milk, and add dry ingredients. Use layer pans and bake at 350º for 50 to 60 minutes. Cover with prune icing.

Icing: Beat ingredients, in order given, until creamy.
