Portuguese Chicken Midnight Soup

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 round onion
  • 4 sprigs watercress

Boil chicken, chopped or diced onion and bay leaves until tender. When half done, add tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. Add rice and watercress when just about done. When rice is cooked, turn off flame.
