Dream Bars

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c. flour

Mix above and press and flatten by hand to cover bottom of ungreased 9×13″ pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 300 degrees. Spread with topping.

Almond Coconut Topping:

  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. coconut, shredded
  • 1 c. walnuts or almonds
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Beat eggs, add sugar and vanilla, mixing well. Add flour, baking powder, salt; then stir in coconut and nuts. Spread over crust, return to oven, and bake for 25 minutes longer. Cool slightly before cutting.
