Chocolate Brownies

  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 envelopes chocolate-bake or 2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 2/3 cup sifted all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Combine in bowl sugar and eggs, beat well. Stir in melted butter and envelopes of chocolate bake. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder and stir into sugar and egg mixture. Add nuts and vanilla. Spread in greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 16 two inch squares. Dust or roll in powdered sugar.
