Scotch Shortbread

2 dozen

  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. sifted flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour. Chill dough (on wax paper) 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into fancy shapes or in squares. Bake in 300 degree F. oven for 20 – 25 minutes. (The tops do not brown during baking..nor does the shape of the cookies change.)
