Mocha Torte Cake
Beat:
- 8 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- dash of salt
Add:
- 4 Tbsp. strong cold coffee
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Fold in: (sifted)
- 2 c. cake flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
Beat:
- 8 egg whites
- 1/2 c. sugar
Fold into above mixture. Bake 325 degrees 20 to 30 minutes.
Filling:
- 2 pkg. vanilla pudding – follow directions on box
Or the following:
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Cook until thick like pudding.
Top with the following:
- 2 bottles avoset
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1/2 c. sugar
Mix well and let stand in refrigerator for an hour, then beat until stiff.
