Boston Clam Chowder

  • 3 slices bacon, chopped fine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 2 medium potato, diced

In a large pot brown bacon and add vegetables and cook till onions transparent. Add:

  • 1 can chicken broth/1 can water
  • 2 cans 6-oz. chopped clams

Simmer till just before vegetable done. Add 3 cups milk. Bring to boil and thicken with flour.

  • 3 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Aji, pinch (optional)

For Manhattan add 1 medium diced tomato.

More water may be added to taste.
