Tomato Cake #2
Single Recipe —— Double Recipe
1/4 lb. —— 1/2 lb. butter
1 cup —— 2 cups sugar
2 egg yolks —— 4 egg yolks
3/4 —— 1 can tomato sauce
2 whites —— 4 egg whites (stiffly beaten)
1-1/2 cups —— 3 cups flour
1/2 —— 1 tsp. cloves
1/2 —— 1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 —— 1/2 tsp. allspice
3/4 —— 1-1/2 tsp. soda
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. add yolks, tomato, egg whites, also dry ingredients in order. Bake in moderate oven at 350 F.
