Tea Time Tassies

Cheese Pastry:

  • 1 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sifted flour

Let cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter soften at room temperature. Blend. Stir in flour. Chill slightly (1 hour). Shape into two (2) dozen 1 inch balls, place in ungreased 1 3/4″ muffin pan cups.

Filling:

  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 T butter (softened)
  • 2/3 cup coarsely broken pecans
  • dash salt

Beat together egg, sugar, 1 T butter, vanilla and salt until smooth.

Divide 1/2 of the pecans among pastry lined cups. Add egg mixture and top with remaining pecans.

Bake in slow oven (325º) for 25 minutes or until filling set. Cool. Remove from pan.
