Easy Portuguese Soup
- 2 ham shanks
- 1 pkg. Portuguese sausage
- 4 cups water
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cut in 3/4″ chunks
- 1 carrot, cut in 3/4″ chunks
- 1 t. salt
- dash pepper
- 2 cans kidney beans
Simmer ham shanks and portuguese sausage in water for 1 hour or till meat on shank is soft.
Add remaining ingredients.
Cook 15 minutes or till vegetables are done.
Good for crock pot too!
*Cabbage could be added before serving.
