Easy Portuguese Soup

  • 2 ham shanks
  • 1 pkg. Portuguese sausage
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, cut in 3/4″ chunks
  • 1 carrot, cut in 3/4″ chunks
  • 1 t. salt
  • dash pepper
  • 2 cans kidney beans

Simmer ham shanks and portuguese sausage in water for 1 hour or till meat on shank is soft.

Add remaining ingredients.

Cook 15 minutes or till vegetables are done.

Good for crock pot too!

*Cabbage could be added before serving.
