Date Bar

  • 1 pkg. dates
  • 1 c. white sugar (light)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 of juice of lemon
  • 3/4 c. melted butter
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. rolled oats (big)
  • 1/2 of egg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Cook the first 3 ingredients until it gets mushy. When it gets cooled, add the lemon juice. Mix the remaining ingredients together with your fingers and then add the melted butter. In a 9×11″ pan and add the rolled oat mixture first and then in the center add the dates and last add the rolled oats. Bake in slow oven, 300 degrees, for 30 minutes or until brown.
