Mayuk Kuk (Seaweed Soup)
1 bundle mayuk (wakame)
1/3 cup dried shrimps
1/4 tsp. finely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp. finely chopped fresh ginger
4-1/2 cups water
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tsp. salt
1 small onion, sliced fine
1 tbsp. finely chopped green onion
1. Cover seaweed with water, soak for five minutes.
2. Wash and remove the tough portions.
3. Cut into four-inch pieces.
4. Wash and drain the dried shrimps.
5. Heal oil, and add seaweed, shrimp, garlic, ginger, shoyu and salt.
6. Simmer for three minutes.
7. Add the water and allow to boil for thirty minutes.
8. When soup is ready, add chopped green onion.
