Abalone Stew
4 cans abalone
1 can water
1 square inch ginger (mashed)
Pork bone (Cook for 2 hours, simmering)
3/4 can water chestnut-sliced
2 pkges. mushroom-cut up
1 can bamboo-sliced
1 lb. pork, cut up in pieces
2 serving spoons oyster sauce
2 tbsp. whiskey
Thickening:
4 heaping tsp. flour
1 heaping tsp. sugar
1/4 cup water
2 dashes of pepper
Slice abalone, place in pot, add all abalone liquid and water. Add ginger and cook for 1-1/2 hours, then add mushrooms. Cook for 15 or 20 minutes. Add pork and water chestnuts, cook for 15 minutes then add bamboo and cook 5 minutes. Stir and add whiskey then add thickening, oyster sauce and pepper 10 minutes before serving.
