Malasadas #3

 

1 pkg active dry yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 cup warm wafer

6 eggs

6 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup buller or margarine, melted

1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup water

1 teaspoon salt

Salad oil fop deep frying

Sugar

Dissolve yeast and the 1 teaspoon sugar in the water water. In small bowl of eleclric mixer, beat eggs until thick. Put flour into a large bowl; make a well in the center of the flour. Add yeast mixture, eggs, the 1/2 cup sugar, the buller, milk, water, and salt. Beat thoroughly to form a soft smooth dough. Cover and let rise until dough is doubled. Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Carefully drop dough by teaspoonfuls into oil; fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels; shake in a bag of sugar, and serve hot. Makes 7 dozen malasadas.
