Quick Chili

 

2 T. vegetable oil or Pam
1-1/2 lbs. ground lean hamburger
1 bay leaf
2 or 3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. oregano leaves
2 T. Chinese parsley, minced
1 rib celery, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 med. onion, diced
2 cans kidney beans, drained
1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce
1 pkg. Lawry's chili seasoning (or your favorite brand)
Ground black pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste

In a large saucepot, add the oil or spray with Pam. Brown the hamburger. Drain off the excess oil. Add bay leaf, garlic, oregano, Chinese parsley, celery, bell pepper and onion. Cook until the onion is translucent. Add the kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili seasoning, ground pepper and salt. cover pot and cook on medium low heat for 30 to 40 minutes.
