Manapua

 

1 Ib. lean char siu, * diced
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon salad oil
1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 tablespoon nam yue*
2 teaspoon heong liu fun*
1 pkg. (13 4 oz) hot roll mix

Combine char siu, onions, oil, sugar, nam yue, and heong liu fun. Prepare roll mix according to directions on package; let rise until doubled. Knead lightly on a floured board until smooth and elastic. Cut dough into 12 pieces. Oil hands and board; flatten pieces of dough. Put a tablespoon of meat mixture in center of each piece o dough. Form into buns by pulling dough up around filling; pinch to seal seams. Place on squares of waxed paper withh smooth side of buns up; arrange on steaming rack. Cover and let rise until doubled. Steam for 15 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
